Haelan is a fermented soy supplementation. It was developed in the early 1980s as a hospital nutritional supplement. It is rich in proteins, selenium, zinc, vitamins A, B1, B2, B12, C, D, E, and K. It has large quantities of the anti-cancer nutrients genistein, glycitin, and daizein plus other isoflavones and protease inhibitors.

Haelan's nitrogenation process hydrolyzes many of the soybean proteins into bio-active amino acids and compounds consisting of various fermentation metabolites of the naturally occurring isoflavones, protease inhibitors, saponins, phytosterols, and phytic acid compounds found in soybeans.
